People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world your best and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway.

Reganisms

There is a show that Regan LOVES called The Wonder Pets. The theme song is really cute and she loves to sing it. It starts out like this..."Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets, we're on our way, to help a friend and save the day." So the other day we were on our way to my in-laws and she starts singing..."Grama's house, grama's house, we're on our way...". So smart and funny at the same time.

My in-laws have an almond tree and the almonds look like this picture right now. She picked some, brought them to me and said...

"What is it?"

"It's a nut."

Well she knows that it is a nut. Virginia has explained that to her. She was really curious about the outside of it.

"It's fuzzy" I told her.

"It's a futhzy nut!!" she proclaims. And then starts repeating that over and over.

A couple of days later we are there and she is playing with some more almonds and starts singing (in the tune of the Wonder Pets) "Futhzy nuts, futhzy nuts, we're on our way, to help a baby animal and save the day."

Jason and I fell out of our chairs laughing. Who needs TV? Pure entertainment right here.

You know it's a daddy day when...

...when the kids are dressed in stripes and ginham in colors that don't match. So when I work on Tuesdays, Jason watches the kids in the morning then takes them to his parents house for the afternoon. It is always interesting to see what he comes up with to dress them in, but this by far took the cake. I walked into the room and stopped dead in my tracks.
"Virginia, did Regan have a major accident, or did Jason really dress her like this?"
"That's how Jason brought her" she replies.
"I thought it looked cute" he defends. "The shirt and skirt are both cute so why wouldn't they look cute together?"
Good question...very good question.
Poor little orphan.

Out of the mouth's of babes

Regan is the funniest kid. At Easter we went four wheeling with Jason's extended family. Jason's uncle Bruce caught a lizard and told Regan to come see it. Well she picked it up, and almost squeezed it to death. Then if that wasn't enough, people around her were telling her to kiss it. Of course Grandma Joy was freaking out, but she kissed it!! It kind of got loose from her and started scrambling up her arm, but she grabbed it and managed to rip it's tail off in the process. She then tried to put the tail back on the lizard saying, "...put it on...". Where did we get this lizard kissin' girl that doesn't like to play with dolls, yet likes to have me put makeup on her?

Then she love to sing and does really well at singing tons of different songs. So now she is getting so good that she will put in her own words to some of them. Here's an example: "Old Macdonald had a teletubbie....or Sophie....or something else totally off the mark, yet she knows what she is saying. I think she does it just to be funny. She will come up to me and say, "Mama, you a good boy."

"No, I'm a good girl"

"No, you a good boy!" ...with a pat and a smile. She's a little jokster.

So potty training is going really well. She has an accident every now and then, but for the most part is great. So the other morning she says to me, "Go poo poo in the potty?", which is what she says whether she has to go #1 or #2, and always ending in a sort of questioning tone. So I rush her in there and she pees then here is the exchange that followed...

R: Got a belly ache? (eyes kind of squinting)

K: You do? Well get it out.

A little pushing follows.

R: Mama, it's stuck.

K: Well push really hard.

More strenuous pushing followed by a smile.

R: It's a baby one!

K: It's not a big one?

R: No, it not a big one. It's a baby one.

Then she leaps off the potty chair, squats down to look at it and says...

R: Look! It's a baby one! It's so cute!!

That's my girl. Way to find a bright spot in a stinky situation.

First Birthday

Sophie turned a year old today. I can't believe it! It seems like I just had her and am still trying to get used to 2 babies. Now my babies are growing up! Instead of trying to keep my head above water with these two, I think it is safe to say that my neck is safely out of water as well. It does keep getting better and better though. I love each new stage they are in. They get funner (and funnier) as they grow. Sophie is now saying "uh oh", "kuh kuh", and "no no". She loves to dance (shake her body), be outside, eat Gogurts, and laugh at Regan.
She is finally feeling better today after being sick all week with a high fever (103+), diarrhea, lethargy, ect. Here are a few pictures from today. This was early morning with some funky bed head. These super cute pj's were a gift from Grandma Greer.

We had a birthday party for her with Jason's family and my brother's family. This is her birthday cake that she is sampling. (Notice that Regan is inching her way toward it trying to get her share of the goods.)

More than just sampling this time. This stuff is pretty darn good!

"Uh oh!"

She is the freakin' cutest kid ever!!!

Do I have to have a title?

Ok so there isn't really much to post about other than Sophie is sick. There was puke all over her crib when I went to get her this morning (probably because she ate as much as Jason and I did for dinner the night before). It was all crusted to her face and hair, it was gnarly-nasty. After her bath she puked again and she has had diarrhea anda fever all day and been really low key and wanting to be held alot. Poor little thing wasn't even doing her crazy alien noises. Hope she does better tomorrow. Regan keeps surprising us with the things she says. We were on our way to Grandma Joy's house and Regan was in the car. I was in the house looking for my phone and Jason called it. I didn't hear it so I went to the car and Regan was in there singing the ring tone. I found it, held it up to show Jason, and Regan says, "Good job mama, you found you phone!" So funny...guess you had to be there, anyway, I found this color thing and didn't know what else to post so here it is... (and I don't think it's too far off).

You Are A Green Girl

You feel most at home in a world of ideas.

You're curious and logical - and enjoy a good intellectual challenge.

You're super cool, calm, and collected. Very little tries your patience.

Your only fear? People not realizing how smart and able you are!

Pavlova!!

Ok, so I absolutely love this recipe and I just thought I'd share it with you on one of the recipe cards I made for Ellie Lash's store. This is going to be a tag. The other ones are getting a little old. So I want to tag Kandra and Wendy for sure, and anybody else out there that wants to share one of your favorite recipes. We all like to try new, awesome recipes right? So this tag is not only good, but useful too! ;)

End of the race

Well the digital scrapbook race is over and these are my last pages for it. This first one I had to use 50 diferent elements from at least 10 different designers.

We had to do some altered art for a page and this is my interpretation of it. I love this picture of her. I wanted it to look like she is imagining all sorts of cool things.
This last page we had to have some wings on it. I loved this paper when I saw it and wanted to keep the colors and not use a bunch of elements to distract from it. I played around with some blending modes in photoshop and I kind of like how the pictures on the sides turned out. Kind of funky but kind of cool.
I hope everyone is doing well. Take care and leave me a note to let me know you are still alive.
