People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world your best and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway.

Rainy/Snowy Day Activities

So it was raining during the week and the trees were blooming. Yuck! Then it started snowing! Crazy stuff. So, first the girls played with play-doh....sorry, no pictures of that. Then if that doesn't get your morning started there is always a mountain of clothes to fold. Did I ever mention that I think my least favorite chore is folding laundry?
Then it was on to finger painting in the bathtub. Their own canvas right there and clean-up was like 3 minutes. How awesome is that? Loooove it!

Then I found the coolest tutorial on how to make "Tie-Dyed" eggs at this site. The tie needs to be 100% silk. You cut the stitching on the back and take out the liner. Wrap the bottom part of the tie around a raw egg and secure with a twist tie. Try to get as much of the tie touching the egg as possible or the pattern won't transfer to the tie.

Wrap the eggs again with a light-colored, light-weight piece of fabric. An old pillowcase or sheet is perfect. If you go to the thrift store to get ties, you may want to grab a pillowcase too. I just used an old pillow case I had. Secure with another twist tie. Put the eggs in a stainless steel pot of water and make sure all the eggs are covered. Add 1/4 cup white vinegar to the water. Bring to a boil. Once boiling turn down and let simmer for 20-25 minutes.

Take them out of the water and let cool before you unwrap. They are very hot! I was so excited to see what mine turned out like. I was kind of disappointed in the green tie, but the flowery tie was AWESOME! I love how they turned out.

I don't think I'll be doing regular old egg-dying ever again. This way is alot cooler!

Side note: I thought the green tie was hideously ugly and one that I had gotten at D.I. a long time ago. Unbeknownst to me, it was Jason's old mission tie that some lady gave him and I guess it held some sentamental value. Sorry Jas....it's all for the cause.

Then it was time for bed. This is how Sophie felt about it....
I just love that face. What a crazy kid.

This is going to be a long one

I have been quite busy the last couple of weeks. Here's a recap:

There is finally no one sick in our house. Hooray!!

I finally found a temporary job as a hygienist for just Wednesdays although I didn't work last Wednesday and I don't know if I'll work this one...ugg. It was nice to get back into it since I haven't done it since August.

Regan's birthmom and her two boys came into town to visit us. It was a great visit and reaffirmed to both of us that Regan is in the right place. We sure love her and her strength and courage.

I was called in before church to be RS 2nd counselor and set apart after church (on the same weekend Regan's birthmom came).

Regan turned 3!?!?!?! She picked out her own cake and candle. I let her choose the frosting color and decorate it herself. She loved it! The birthday hat she is wearing was given to her by her birthmom and she wouldn't take it off. She even wore it to the zoo.....and this is a girl that doesn't like to wear hats! She is getting so big...where has the time gone?

These shirts were onsale at Target and I thought they were so stinkin' cute. This is the first time they wore them......and the last....at least for Sophie. I caught her with my super sharp quilting scissors and she was shredding her shirt to bits....while wearing it.

We have 2 external hard drives. One for all of our pics, videos, scrapbook, stuff and the other as a backup of all of that. The first one failed in January, luckily no info was lost. We took it back to Costco and they replaced it. Then our second one failed this week. For the past couple of weeks I felt like I needed to backup and just didn't do it. Well, I lost about 2 months worth of pictures and I am heart broken. Luckily I had uploaded some to Costco of Regan so I could print them out for her birth mom, so I have a few of those I can get, but all the ones of Sophie are gone. There were some darling ones of her awesomly sweet curly hair and her silly scrunchy face, and even the princess Laya hat (see a couple posts down), and some of them while they were at my parents house with my dad, Kandra and Gavin. The ones on my blog are GIF files so they won't print out. I just feel like puking. So lesson learned, BACKUP OR THROWUP!!!!

Regan got into my make-up........again. The bathroom was covered in consealer.

I was pushing Sophie in the swing and she was laying back like you see here. When she would start to slow down, without moving, she would say "more swing". So I would push her more. After a while of this she stopped asking me to swing her. She had fallen asleep like this. So cute.
Regan said that she looked like grandpa Joy with a fuzzy face.

I am posting these for my sister. She wanted to see what I was trying to explain to her. I am going to put it in the girls room. Pretty fun to make. Maybe I'll sell them on Etsy.

I had a fun photo shoot with my super cute neices and they turned out pretty good.
