People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world your best and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway.

Rainy/Snowy Day Activities

So it was raining during the week and the trees were blooming. Yuck! Then it started snowing! Crazy stuff. So, first the girls played with play-doh....sorry, no pictures of that. Then if that doesn't get your morning started there is always a mountain of clothes to fold. Did I ever mention that I think my least favorite chore is folding laundry?
Then it was on to finger painting in the bathtub. Their own canvas right there and clean-up was like 3 minutes. How awesome is that? Loooove it!

Then I found the coolest tutorial on how to make "Tie-Dyed" eggs at this site. The tie needs to be 100% silk. You cut the stitching on the back and take out the liner. Wrap the bottom part of the tie around a raw egg and secure with a twist tie. Try to get as much of the tie touching the egg as possible or the pattern won't transfer to the tie.

Wrap the eggs again with a light-colored, light-weight piece of fabric. An old pillowcase or sheet is perfect. If you go to the thrift store to get ties, you may want to grab a pillowcase too. I just used an old pillow case I had. Secure with another twist tie. Put the eggs in a stainless steel pot of water and make sure all the eggs are covered. Add 1/4 cup white vinegar to the water. Bring to a boil. Once boiling turn down and let simmer for 20-25 minutes.

Take them out of the water and let cool before you unwrap. They are very hot! I was so excited to see what mine turned out like. I was kind of disappointed in the green tie, but the flowery tie was AWESOME! I love how they turned out.

I don't think I'll be doing regular old egg-dying ever again. This way is alot cooler!

Side note: I thought the green tie was hideously ugly and one that I had gotten at D.I. a long time ago. Unbeknownst to me, it was Jason's old mission tie that some lady gave him and I guess it held some sentamental value. Sorry Jas....it's all for the cause.

Then it was time for bed. This is how Sophie felt about it....
I just love that face. What a crazy kid.

Don't blame you on the laundry! One of my least favorite jobs as well! I love the idea for the eggs! They look so neat and professional! I'll have to try that next year!

Those Eggs look AWESOME! So creative... I was lucky my boys only spilled one of the die cups... Glad we only do it once a year. :)

Very egg-straordinarily clever idea for decorating Easter eggs!! Love them. Sorry about Jason's tie but it went for a good cause anyway. The girls are precious as usual. Is Sophie's hair getting darker? It looks like she has my curly dark wig on!

It was the only tie I brought home from my mission... All 6 of my MTC group had matching ties that we wore to Chile and wore home. If the tie is on my tie hanger it's NOT FROM THE D.I.!

It's like you just killed one of my Horcruxes. How could you?
