Spring break vacation

At the end of March we took a trip to Mesa to see my parents.  Allie isn't the best traveler, but we found a great way to shut her up.......black licorice!!!  She has some strong Greer blood in her:)

 She won't eat baby food, but she'll go to town on black licorice.  Crazy kid:)

Jason's best friend, Brandon Cox, moved to the Phoenix area, so we had to go see them and meet their youngest three kids.  We haven't seen them for so long.  A great surprise was that we got to see Brandon's brother, Dusty and their parents.

 We also got to meet up with my best friend, the world traveler, Kim Williams Brown.  It had been a couple of years since I had seen her.  It was great!

 How ironic is it that two best friends marry boys who were mission companions in Antofagasta, Chile?!?

 Cute little Regan celebrated her 6th birthday while we were there.

 I wanted her to feel super special so I got got decorations, made a rainbow cake and got her a pinata per her request.

 The party started in the morning with opening presents.

 Then they wanted to crack open the pinata.

 I felt bad that it was only Regan and Sophie, but they seemed to have a good time.

 Later in the day we went to the movies, the park and then back at the condo, Regan made friends with some neighborhood boys and got them to do melty beads with her.  They shared in some of the cake and ice cream too.

This last picture of my dad is so funny!!  It makes me laugh.  I couldn't help posting it.  My dad really had it rough down there going to lunch and the movies every other day with his brother, Paul.

We got to see my Grandma Burnham who is 97 years old.  She is the one Allie is named for and her birthday is a couple days after Allie's.  She is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet and even made a big quilt for Allie.  I forgot my camera and only have a terrible, blurry camera phone shot.  I've been kicking myself ever since.  Well, we had a great time visiting with family and friends.    

Catch-a-Cat system

Regan's baby napper security system was such a huge success that she has decided to go large scale.

What we have here folks is the Catch-a-Cat system.  For only two low payments of $29.95 you can be the lucky owner of this incredible contraption that will catch cats.  Heck I bet it would catch people too.  Installation is an additional $20 and you can't beat the kind of service you will receive.  

Regan and her assistant Sophie will personally see that it wraps clear around your house, yard, and drive-way.  And for no extra charge they will wrap it around the cul-de-sac.  Not only will it go around your light pole, but it will reach clear across the road to the street sign in case the cat in question decides to cross the street.

No cat stands a chance against the Catch-a-Cat system.

Funny Girls

A little of this, a little of that

Jason's sister Patty was going to take Regan and Sophie to a plant nursery to get some flowers.  While they were getting into the car Regan said, "Patty, we won't give you any trouble, if you give us whatever we want."  Then Sophie pipes up, "Let's roll!"

If something isn't making Regan happy, she says her life is going crazy.

I needed some pictures to hang up in my living room and took these in Mesa while visiting my parents.  Such pretty girls.

Since August I have pretty much stopped taking my allergy medicine.  Now if you know me, then you know that this is no little thing.  My whole life it seems, I have taken allergy medicine everyday of the year.  The pills were making me so sick during my pregnancy so I tried not taking them and since August, I can count on two hands the number of times I have taken my allergy medicine.  For the first time in a looooong time I have actually enjoyed spring time and all the blossoms that are on the trees.  God still works miracles today!!

Reganism

On the way home from school, Regan said.....
"Mom, if we had lots and lots of money, we could give it to all the poor people.  Then there wouldn't be any more poor people and poor would be a nonsense word."
You are absolutely right darling girl!

3 Months Old

Allie is such a sweet heart. She will smile, but you have to work for it, except when she wakes up. She is all smiles when she wakes. I love it.

She is a little somber. It looks like she is deep in thought and just studies your face like she's trying to understand some unseen thing.

She sucks on her fingers like they are going to disappear if she doesn't.

Her eye has a blocked tear duct and it is goopy all day long.

She has started blowing raspberries and giggling.

She got sick for the first time with a nasty cough and ear infection.  She was really quite good through it.  Took her to the doctor and he gave her a breathing treatment and some antibiotics.  She does NOT like to take medicine.  As soon as the syringe touches her lips she starts gagging. 

Not sure what her eye color is going to be yet.  Sometimes it looks dark, other times kind of a grayish color.

Everyone in our house is so crazy in love with this little girl.  We just can't get enough of her!

2 Months Old

Allie is growing so fast.  At her two month check up she was 12 lbs.  She hates tummy but sleeps 8 hours at night.  Hallelujah!!! A much better sleeper than either of her sisters were and are.  She likes to be held of course but is good with being put down.  She likes being sung to and the itsy bitsy spider song especially.

She does not like her car seat, but does like the swing.

She is such a good sweet baby!

Pretty Princess Party

When you have girls, you don't really get into monster trucks and G.I. Joes.  You get into dress up and princesses.  In January, Regan didn't have school for a couple of days and we tried to figure out things we could do to keep boredom away.  That brought on the Pretty Princess Party!

The girls dressed up in beautiful dress.  (They are kind of somber because being a princess does take a level of pomp and decorum.)

I got their hair all fancy.

Of course "tea and crumpets" (water and nutella sandwiches) were served by servant Kristal.  

They used their best british accents to converse and ask for more tea and crumpets.

Overall a very lovely party :)

Space Aliens

A while back I saw a picture of some hot dogs with spaghetti in it.  So one night I got a wild hair and the girls and I made some.

They look kind of crazy and I didn't have a name for them so we call them space aliens.

The girls had a great time making them.

And eating them too!

The second time we made it we didn't half the noodles that we stuck in the hot dogs and that seemed to work better. I made extra noodles with it and put some spaghetti sauce on it.  Just stick them in a pot of boiling water with extra noodles.  Easy peasy (as Regan would say)! It was so tasty!

Allie's Blessing

We blessed Allie in St. George at Jason's mom's ward.  It is more of a central location for our families since we don't have any family in Salt Lake.

My mom made this gorgeous blessing dress with a bonnet.  She hand sewed all of this pretty trim around the dress and the bonnet.

I feel bad I didn't take more pictures, but oh well.  The blessing so beautiful.  We had a bunch of family there.  My parents were able to come as well as my brother's family, and of course all of Jason's family including some cousins that we didn't expect to see.  We also had our good friends, the Colvins, there to support us.  We have great family and friends!

Optimism

Regan: Why isn't Allie wearing the new outfit she had on?
Me: Because she had a blow out.
Regan: What's a blowout?
Me: It's when Allie's poop comes out of her diaper.  See her onesie?  This yellow stuff is her poop.
Regan: At least it's a pretty yellow.  :)

Jason is in the kitchen looking through the spice cupboard and Sophie comes in looking at something.
Sophie: What the?
Jason: (turns to her) What?
Sophie: I said What The.  It's okay daddy, I didn't say what the hell.

6 weeks old

Today we went to Layton to visit some friends that are having triplets.  Crazy stuff.
Regan: Where are we?
Jason: Layton
Regan: Layton rhymes with Satan.
Minute later
Regan: I'm getting nervous because Layton rhymes with Satan.
Oh Regan.  She is too clever for her own good :)

Regan: I'm sitting on the toilet.
