People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world your best and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It never was between you and them anyway.

Today......

I am humbled by:

my lack of learning,
my underestimation,
my sheer idiocy,
the talent my girls have at destroying
my house faster than I can clean it.

What made me think that I could
leave them alone for more than 1 minute?!?!
Silence is not golden.......it's deadly.....

It started first with me starting to clean our bathroom. They took that opportunity to make some soup that entailed uncooked rice and pasta, spices and of course butter.......all over the kitchen counter, floor, table, themselves....ect. Bath #1.
So I start cleaning that up. They take that opportunity to go to the bathroom and get my scrubbing brushes filled with Ajax and start scrubbing the sink, floor, rugs, carpet, walls, and couch. Nice. Bath #2.
So I figure that I better finish cleaning the bathroom so they don't get chemical poisoning or something. In the mean time they decide that a picnic in the living room would be a great idea. They get a couple boxes of cereal and dump them on the living room floor. Whatever.
I finish cleaning the bathroom and go back to the kitchen to finish cleaning the "soup". I realize to my horror that it is yet again, very quiet. I go to their bedroom where the door is closed. This is what I found.....
Ajax canister empty, Sophie covered hair to toe, and the rest of the room covered. Great. So much for chemical poisoning prevention. Bath #3 and all before 1 pm.
So now I am holed up in the computer room for a mom break, with the door locked so they can't get in. Am I worried that they will make another big mess? Not really. They are both banging on the door and screaming to let them in.

Look at them.....partners in crime.
Anybody need some good birth control? Come on over.....

Oh MY! You need one of them to go to school..Or...Just an idea...But, I think two straight-jackets would be worth their weight in gold!

You poor thing! I am so sorry you had a morning like that. It's quite impressive on their part, I must say. But what the heck are you going to do with them, Kristal? Maybe we could go back to the zoo and leave them THERE along with my kids because they're masters of desctruction, too

Oh, I have totally been there. In fact, I still am there. My boys weren't terrors like Ainsley is. She destroys everything, it must be a girl thing. How ironic that our girls will be the ones cleaning up the messes there family makes and when they vent to us we'll just smile and nod our head. Life is just after all.

I like the idea of stray jacket! I'm not sure what to say after that. I just keep shaking my head, hoping Gavin doesn't get that way, especially since tonight he has taken his first real steps...(Jaws theme music comes on).

The thoughts..."come what may & Love it" & "Find Joy in the Journey" come to mind. It is times like these that I HAVE to find myself LAUGHING or I would spend my entire motherly life CRYING!!!! Hang in there!!

I'll send Christine over. She can add her package of red koolaid to the mess. I have half a box of cereal on my floor too!

HAHA! THose crazy girls! I was exhausted just reading this post. Beautiful motherhood! Love your honesty! I need to remember to post about my days like this. I am always too darn exhausted by the end of one. The pictures are too hilarious!

Alright, that is SUPER DUPER SAD! Both girls need time out- separately of course and then Mom can have a quiet time too! Those days are GREAT birth control for me. When it is my day of back to back messes, I think- Nope, couldn't handle a BABY- NO SLEEP- and TWO Rambunckious BOYS, I would need to be put in a facility- so we WAIT.

Kristal--I love this post! It's the TRUTH!! I think it's good that you can stop and take pictures of these moments for future proof of what your kids did to you--so you can laugh when their kids do it to them!! But I'm truly sorry they did it to YOU--AHHH--kids--this for sure is the best birth conrol!!
